TOUCH THE SKY

Brenna's review for this week is for podcast friend Steph Lucianovic and illustrator Chris Park's new book TOUCH THE SKY! Let's start with Park's illustrations–they are dreamy yet vibrant–exactly the way I remember my childhood. They are coupled with the perfect childhood milestone–learning to pump on a swing! Vern's fingers in the wood chips, the way he almost but not quite gets the pump from a quick lesson from Gretchen, and then, AND THEN how he DOES get it and passes on the skill at the end?! I mean chef's kiss. I know a bit of this book's history to publication and I am so glad it finally made it through!
